Alfama Terrace is located in a gated property in one of Lisbon's oldest and quaintest neighborhoods.

Alfama is one of the few parts of Lisbon that survived the great earthquake of 1755.

Originally, this terraced property, which dates to the 16th century, was a tenement compound, most likely inhabited by fishermen and their families, due to its proximity to the sea. Today, Alfama Terrace is a lovely, peaceful and quite property offering modern, elegant and beautifully decorated air-conditioned apartments and private terraces where you can relax with a book, enjoy a drink or simply admire the peaceful views of Lisbon's most authentic district.

 10 ☺L'appartement en duplex était très sympa et spacieux pour 4 adultes, très bien équipé, propre, très bien situé au cœur de l'alfama. Notre hôte très agréable avec une attention à notre arrivée que nous avons apprécié. Les terraces sont également très agréables. Petit bémol : le bazard aupres de certaines habitations gâche la beauté du lieu. Mais je recommande.

☺Appartement tres propre. Avec une superbe terrasse.  Très bien équipé.  Dans une impasse donc très calme( chants des oiseaux). Tres belle vue sur le Pantheon.

☹L'accès peut être difficile avec de jeunes enfants ou de grosses valises car rue très pentue et nombreux escaliers  mais c'est le charme du quartier de l'Alfama.

 9.0 ☺Quarter central, proche des lieux touristiques, des restos, des transports. Un peu bruyant le week-end.

History and Uniqueness of the Property

Alfama Terrace, a gated property in one of Lisbon's oldest and most famous districts, opened to the public in December of 2012 after more than two years of renovation. The property sits on a private terrace in Alfama (from the Arabic word "fountains"), Lisbon's oldest quarter, and remains much like it was 300 years ago. This village within a city is made up of narrow streets, tiny squares, alleys, patios, churches and small whitewashed homes with ancient tiles and wrought-iron balconies.

Parking in Alfama

As with many other areas of Lisbon street parking is very difficult in Alfama. Not only is it very difficult to find space in the narrow streets of Alfama, strict parking restrictions are also in place.
